Overview

The Pathways Scholarship provides five one-time awards of $1,000 each to graduating seniors from Westover High School who are pursuing higher education.

All scholarship funds are paid directly to the recipient's educational institution, ensuring the money goes directly toward your educational expenses such as tuition, fees, books, or supplies.

Our goal is to foster creative thinkers and innovators who positively impact their communities, and to encourage students to pursue their passions while contributing meaningfully to society.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Pathways Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria.

  • Graduating Senior
    Must be a current graduating senior at Westover High School.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
    Academic performance demonstrating commitment to your studies.
  • Pursuing Higher Education
    Plans to enroll in a post-secondary educational institution.
  • Community Service Commitment
    Demonstrated history of service and involvement in your community.
  • Faculty Letter of Recommendation
    A letter of recommendation from a Westover High School faculty member.

Essay Requirement

As part of your full application, you'll submit a 750-word essay that helps us understand who you are and why you're a strong candidate for the Pathways Scholarship.

Essay Prompt

Your essay should address the following three areas:

  1. Your Future Goals
    Explain why you've chosen to pursue your intended field of study. What draws you to this path? What do you hope to accomplish?
  2. Meaningful Challenges
    Describe a significant challenge you've faced and how you overcame it. What did this experience teach you about yourself?
  3. Service Connection
    Explain how your community service experiences connect to your future goals. How do you plan to use your education to give back or make a positive impact?

Final Selection
